BMW M5 playing on Pendine Sands
BMW has taken the new M5 to Pendine Sands in Wales to kick up some sand and promote the 2012 London Olympics. Regular Top Gear watchers will be all too aware that Pendine Sands in Wales offers some spectacular driving prospects. The newly appointed Kia President, Peter Schreyer, has now been made Hyundai President in charge of design too. Peter Schreyer’s success in making Kia a real design force led to him being appointed a Kia President at the end of 2012, handsome reward for the changes he’s wrought at Kia since leaving VW, turning Kia’s range of cars from stodgy to convincing in a few short years. But Kia is the junior partner in the Hyundai-Kia business, so Hyundai are obviously not totally thrilled that Kia managed to snaffle a designer who’s eye manages to so convincingly hit the Zeitgeist firmly on the head.
Chrysler Group is warning about 2,500 owners of 2013 Dodge Challengers with V6 engines built in December and January not to drive their cars because of a potential short-circuit that could lead to a fire. At least seven such fires have occurred, none causing injury, on Challengers built from Dec. 3, 2012, through Jan.
